Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Compliance Analyst to join our North American Compliance Team. In this role, you will be a key driver in executing daily BSA/AML operations for both U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions, as well as overseeing consumer compliance (including Reg E and dispute resolution).
The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical capabilities, a rigorous attention to detail, and a proven track record in end-to-end SAR production, advanced transaction monitoring, and regulatory audit support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regulatory Operations & Consumer Compliance
- Technical Subject Matter Expert: Serve as the primary operational contact for daily U.S. (BSA/AML) and Canadian AML requirements, ensuring full alignment with internal policies and regional standards.
- Consumer Protection Oversight: Conduct daily monitoring of consumer-facing operations with a focus on Reg E, dispute resolution SLA tracking, and required regulatory disclosures.
- Audit & Exam Readiness: Support the Compliance Director to compile, organize, and validate documentary evidence for regulatory examinations and internal/external audits.
- Internal Advisory: Offer actionable, technical guidance to operational teams regarding compliance standards and policy enforcement.
2. Financial Crime Investigations & SAR Management
- End-to-End SAR Execution: Lead the drafting, documentation, and assembly of high-quality Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), delivering complete, submission-ready files for final Director review.
- Complex Case Investigations: Conduct thorough, independent investigations into high-risk customer profiles and sophisticated transaction patterns to detect money laundering or fraud.
- Data Synthesis & Reporting: Extract, clean, and structure raw financial transaction data into clear, executive-ready analytical reports.
3. Program Optimization & Risk Management
- Special Projects: Assist senior leadership in tracking and delivering targeted compliance initiatives and operational enhancements on schedule.
- Risk Program Support: Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and annual updates of core frameworks, including Vendor Due Diligence (VDD) and Risk Assessment methodologies.
- Training & Quality Control: Help develop updated BSA/AML training curriculum for cross-functional teams and perform quality assurance checks on routine compliance workflows.
4. Analytical Insights & Team Collaboration
- Risk Trend Analytics: Leverage data analysis to uncover emerging financial crime trends, process bottlenecks, and operational vulnerabilities.
- Team Guidance: Support team development by offering functional guidance to junior team members and fostering a culture of compliance excellence.
Qualification/skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong organization skills.
- Consumer compliance, legal, and/or regulatory experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and general digital literacy.
- Prior internship or up to 2 years of experience in compliance, legal, financial services, or a related area is a plus but not required.
- Analytics: Advanced proficiency in applying analytical approaches to complex financial data (experience with SQL or advanced Excel is a plus).
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex regulations into actionable business advice.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and eagerness to learn.
Additional Requirement
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Entry level starting from 60k and senior level compliance analyst starting from 65k.
- **Salary is negotiable based on relevant experience and qualifications.
