Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler/Warehouse Associate to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing warehouse distribution, order picking, and materials handling to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, including the operation of heavy equipment such as forklifts and cranes, and will adhere strictly to safety protocols in compliance with OSHA standards. Responsibilities
- Load and unload shipments using appropriate heavy equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and cranes, ensuring safe handling practices.
- Pick and prepare orders accurately using RF scanners and manual methods to meet customer specifications.
- Manage inventory levels through regular stock counts and updates in inventory management systems.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely for materials handling, including manual handling of goods and heavy lifting tasks.
- Support shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment in accordance with safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with warehouse operations including load & unload activities, order picking, and staging materials for shipment.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve overall efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, crane, and pallet jacks.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and RF scanner technology.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and measurements.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols and OSHA standards related to materials handling.
- Experience with manual handling techniques for heavy or awkward loads.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and order accuracy.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
- Prior experience in warehouse supervisor roles or warehouse operations is a plus.
