Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will lead complex electrical system design and project management initiatives, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions across diverse infrastructure projects. Your expertise will drive the development of system schematics, facilitate detailed CAD modeling, and oversee the integration of electrical systems with mechanical and structural components. Key Responsibilities
- Perform investigations, analyses, reports, studies, scopes, cost estimates, technical documentation, and design tasks for various electrical engineering projects.
- Present technical and design solutions directly to clients.
- Plan design development and construction drawings.
- Supervise and lead design teams, ensuring successful execution of project plans.
- Inspect and perform evaluations of electrical engineering components in the field.
- Assist with projects from inception to completion, collaborating with project leadership to develop technical solutions and oversee design delivery.
- Oversee project components and workflows, organize cost estimates, and manage bid preparation to align with client requirements and budget constraints.
- Review work delegated to team members while providing mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Affix your professional seal to final documents and drawings, assuming responsibility for the accuracy of others.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Possess in-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, trends, applicable codes and standards, including the National Electrical Code (NEC/NFPA 70) and NFPA 70E, and relevant regulations.
- Apply technical information, codes, and standards to the planning, review, and design of projects.
- Proficient in interpreting and understanding information from other disciplines, integrating electrical design with architectural and other engineering disciplines, and skilled at fostering effective coordination across teams.
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively with team members to deliver projects on tight schedules, ensuring deadlines are met within time and budget constraints.
- Effectively coordinate, perform, and complete multiple duties and assignments concurrently and in a timely manner.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to present effectively to clients and interact appropriately with owners and contractors.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited institution with major coursework in electrical engineering or a closely related field.
- 10+ years of experience as a practicing Professional Engineer (PE).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within six (6) months of employment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other computer-aided design and engineering systems relevant to electrical design.
- Possess a strong work ethic.
- Possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
Pay: $95,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
