Job Summary
We are seeking a Member Services Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in financial services, possess excellent customer service skills, and be proficient in loan processing and basic math.
Responsibilities
· This position is responsible for engaging new and existing members to uncover appropriate needs and to help them define and reach their financial goals.
· Explain and recommend products, services, and behaviors that benefit the member and their lifestyle, including basic budgeting and financial planning.
· Identify cross-sell opportunities and in-house referrals that would benefit the member and the credit union.
· Assist members with various financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
· Assist members with opening and closing accounts, answering questions about products and services and resolving problems within your authority to resolve.
· This position will open and close accounts and initiate consumer loans.
· Other duties include balancing the cash drawer and daily transactions.
· Process loan applications and support the loan processing procedures.
· Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
· Utilize relationship management techniques to build rapport with members.
· Operate cash registers and 10-key typing for accurate transactions.
Qualifications
· Previous experience in financial services or banking is preferred
· Proficiency in loan processing and basic math skills
· Strong customer relationship management abilities
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong customer service background with a focus on phone etiquette
· The ability to speak Spanish is a plus
· Experience in outbound calling and upselling techniques
· Proficiency in data entry and analysis skills
· Familiarity with cash registers and 10-key typing is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.20 - $29.00 per hour
