Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing excellent customer service and making them feel valued.
- Manage restaurant reservations using reservation management systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain an organized waitlist, accurately estimating wait times and communicating updates clearly to guests.
- Coordinate with the dining team to seat guests promptly and efficiently, optimizing table turnover.
- Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about wait times, reservations, and restaurant policies.
- Handle guest inquiries courteously via phone and in person, demonstrating strong communication skills and phone etiquette.
- Support food safety standards by maintaining cleanliness in the host station area and adhering to health guidelines.
- Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for reservation entries or guest inquiries when needed.
- Assist with guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations during busy hours.
Skills
- Proven experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant setting, with strong guest service skills.
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems and POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and clear verbal interaction.
- Strong organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and basic food service procedures.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
- Basic math skills for managing tables, bills, or reservation counts accurately.
