Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team in a religious exempt setting. In this vital role, you will lead classroom activities, foster a nurturing environment, and support the developmental growth of young children. Your leadership will ensure that every child receives high-quality education tailored to their individual needs, while also promoting positive behavior, social-emotional skills, and foundational learning in a faith-based context. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curricula that incorporate early childhood education standards and religious principles.
- Lead classroom activities focused on literacy education, math, physical education, and social-emotional development for preschool-aged children.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management strategies to create a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Plan lessons aligned with child development milestones and standardized testing requirements to support early intervention and academic success.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on child progress, address concerns, and foster strong home-school connections.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and childcare staff to ensure consistent instructional quality and classroom management.
- Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and ensure adherence to health and safety protocols such as first aid and CPR certifications.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom management techniques, and inclusive practices for children with special needs or requiring additional support.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings, including preschool or toddler care environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management strategies.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, special education practices, early intervention techniques, and childhood welfare policies.
- Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement, team collaboration, and community involvement.
- Valid certification in first aid and CPR; additional credentials in childhood education or preschool teaching preferred.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare.
- Experience teaching physical education or literacy education is advantageous; familiarity with standardized testing is a plus.
- Ability to foster an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds while aligning with faith-based educational values.
