Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Support cooking processes by operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently under supervision.
- Help with meal assembly and plating according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste in accordance with food safety standards.
- Follow food handling procedures meticulously to ensure safety and prevent cross-contamination.
- Support the dietary department by helping with menu planning and meal prep for various dietary needs.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure timely service during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred; experience in dietary or catering environments is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, slicers, and dishwashers.
