Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Roll-Off Driver/portable toilet driver to join our logistics and waste management team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks, including roll-off, front loader, rear loader, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers, to transport and deliver waste containers and materials efficiently. This position requires a strong focus on safety, mechanical knowledge, and customer service. The ideal candidate will possess commercial driving experience, proficient driving skills with manual transmissions, and the physical capability to handle heavy lifting tasks. Responsibilities
- Operate roll-off trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles such as front loader, rear loader, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Load and unload waste containers or materials efficiently using mechanical equipment or manual labor as required.
- Drive safely across designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups while complying with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to identify mechanical issues; perform basic maintenance or report repairs promptly.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials during service calls, utilizing mechanical knowledge of truck systems.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage, fuel consumption, and service logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve issues promptly.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely to prevent injury while managing waste containers or equipment.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations by properly securing loads and disposing of waste responsibly.
- Support team efforts in maintaining a clean work environment and adhering to safety standards.
Experience
- Proven experience operating commercial trucks such as roll-off trucks, front loaders, rear loaders, dump trucks, flatbeds, or tractor-trailers.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy-duty vehicle systems and routine maintenance procedures.
- Prior experience in delivery driving or waste collection services is preferred.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; proficiency in manual transmission operation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes in all types of weather.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and safety regulations applicable to commercial vehicle operation.
- Excellent driving skills combined with a safety-first mindset.
- Familiarity with load securing techniques for flatbed or roll-off containers is advantageous.
