The Position:
Machine Operator Summary: This full-time position entails maintaining the operation of a paper bag manufacturing machine. The major aspects of the job include machine setup operation, changeover, repair and troubleshooting equipment when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup and operate manufacturing machinery according to established procedures and safety standards
- Monitor machine performance during production runs and make adjustments as needed
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance and conformance to specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal operation
- Troubleshoot basic machine issues and escalate more complex problems to maintenance team
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders
- Maintain accurate production logs and report data on output, downtime, and defects
- Follow all company safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Assist with packaging, labeling, and staging of finished products for shipment
- Support onboarding and training of new machine operators as needed
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- All other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred including knowledge of working with HMI/MMI
- 1 or more years of Forklift experience
- Ability to read technical documents and use measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers)
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to stand, lift, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends if needed
● Hours: Must be able to work 12-hour day shift, night shift/ Rotating Schedules including Weekends and Overtime. The specific hours are determined by management.
Pay: $23.18 - $27.91 per hour
