Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks and personal vehicles for local parcel delivery routes, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Load, unload, and secure packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with all regulations
- Manage delivery schedules efficiently, ensuring timely drop-offs while maintaining high levels of customer service
- Use mobile devices to track deliveries, update route information, and communicate with dispatch teams
- Assist with warehouse operations when required, including manual handling and moving parcels within the facility using appropriate equipment
- Follow safe lifting practices during manual handling tasks involving heavy or bulky items
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with warehouse experience and delivery driving expertise
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating box trucks and manual transmission vehicles is highly desirable
- Knowledge of route driving, traffic laws, and adherence to DOT regulations for commercial drivers
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, including manual handling of packages and use of material handling equipment like pallet jacks
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude during interactions with clients
- Comfortable using mobile devices for navigation, communication, and delivery documentation
- Prior experience in warehouse operations or material handling is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
