Position Summary
Penmac is seeking a skilled and dependable CNC Machinist to join a dedicated machining team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who takes pride in precision, quality craftsmanship, and working collaboratively in a manufacturing environment. The CNC Machinist will set up, operate, and maintain CNC and manual equipment to produce high-quality components that meet customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities

Operate CNC and manual machines including mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and saws
*
Review drawings, blueprints, samples, and job instructions to understand specifications
*
Set up machines, position materials, and load tooling for production
*
Monitor machine operations and adjust feeds and speeds as needed
*
Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards are met; identify and remove defective pieces
*
Maintain accurate production and quality records
*
Troubleshoot machining issues and perform basic tooling repair and maintenance
*
Measure, mark, and prepare materials for cutting or shaping
*
Tram manual mill heads and indicate vises
*
Set tool offsets and demonstrate working knowledge of G-Code
*
Calculate feeds, speeds, chip loads, and thread pitch specifications
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
*
Minimum of 5 years of machining experience
*
Experience operating CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines
*
CAD/CAM experience with the ability to manually write G-Code
*
Strong math skills, including converting fractions to decimals and vice versa
*
Ability to interpret blueprints and 3D models
*
Ability to visualize flat patterns and determine machining sequence
*
Proficiency using precision measuring tools including dial and digital calipers, machinist squares, protractors, and other inspection equipment
*
Advanced understanding of tool selection, feeds, and speeds
*
Basic computer proficiency
*
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
*
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow direction
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
*
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally
*
Frequent pushing, pulling, kneeling, reaching overhead, and grasping
*
Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, fumes, and moving equipment
*
Must follow all safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) policies
*
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen
