A regional acute care medical center is seeking an Administrative Director of Surgical Services to oversee perioperative operations and provide strategic leadership for a growing surgical services department. This leadership position partners with hospital executives, physicians, and clinical teams to promote operational excellence, high-quality patient care, and continued service line growth.
Responsibilities
Provide operational and administrative leadership for Surgical Services, including the Operating Room, Sterile Processing, Pre-Op, PACU, GI, and Pre-Admission Testing.
Lead and support department managers while overseeing daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and resource planning.
Monitor departmental performance, budgets, and operational metrics, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and quality outcomes.
Collaborate with physicians and hospital leadership to strengthen existing surgical programs and identify opportunities for service expansion.
Promote evidence-based clinical practices that support patient safety, quality care, and regulatory compliance.
Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
Support workforce development through coaching, accountability, and staff engagement initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience as a Director of Surgical Services required.
At least three years of progressive acute care surgical services experience required.
Strong leadership, financial management, and operational planning skills.
Schedule
Full-time, day shift with no weekend requirement.
