Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks or personal vehicles, adhering strictly to traffic laws and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals at each destination.
- Interact courteously with customers, providing excellent service and addressing any questions or concerns professionally.
- Use mobile devices to manage delivery schedules, scan packages, and update delivery statuses in real-time.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles regularly to maintain optimal operation and compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, weight handling, and any incidents during route driving.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery driving, warehouse operations, or courier services is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) or experience with commercial truck driving is a plus.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and manual handling practices.
- Ability to lift heavy packages safely using proper lifting techniques; experience with heavy lifting is preferred.
- Knowledge of route planning, traffic regulations, and safe driving practices.
- Comfortable operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or load & unload tools.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude on the road and in interactions with clients.
