We have an immediate need for a Quality Assurance Lab Technician with a local food manufacturing company.
Responsible for complying with food safety, food security, Quality, GMP’s, HAACP, Allergen, and Sensitizer as well as other regulations as required.
Will be certified in the operations of all machinery in his or her area of responsibility.
Responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of the product run on the lines based on specifications.
Responsible for duplicating and communicating all safety and good manufacturing practices in accordance with company policy as well as all other company policies.
The technician will be responsible for the maintenance of all lab equipment. This will include the accuracy and repeatability of test results through routine monitoring and calibration of equipment.
The technician will be required to communication effectively to all departments with notification of existing or potential quality concerns. This will include giving direction and instructions to any of the Operations Groups (Batching, Production, Processing) regarding specifications, or how to establish, achieve and maintain specifications.
The technician will help in the audit of the Production facility and its function as required.
The ability to work in a fast passed environment and perform many tasks in an established time frame is required.
Adhere to company and department policies/procedures and safety required as defined.
The technician will represent the company in a positive manner at all times.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED ON THE JOB
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Preferred is a two – year degree from college or technical school in technical field. Prior experience is preferred but not mandatory. A sensory evaluation screening must be passed (Taste, Odor, Color).
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Able to read, write and speak English. Excellent interpersonal skills, team player and an attitude to excel are a must. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
MATHEMATICAL ABILITIES:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Qualified candidates with Lab experience within a food/beverage manufacturing facility preferred. This is a night shift position (6pm - 6am).
