Quality Engineer
Pay: $60,000–$65,000 annually (depending on experience)

About the Role
PlastiPaint, a division of Engineered Plastic Components (EPC), is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our growing Quality team. This position plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by driving quality improvements, assisting with laboratory testing, interacting with customers, and maintaining compliance with quality management systems.
The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, working directly with production teams, analyzing data, and building strong relationships with customers while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Experience with automotive manufacturing and ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 quality systems is highly preferred.
What You'll Do
- Support daily quality operations throughout the manufacturing facility
- Investigate quality concerns and identify root causes using structured problem-solving methods
- Develop, implement, and monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Assist with customer quality concerns, complaints, and corrective action responses
- Serve as a technical resource for production, engineering, and operations to improve product quality
- Support internal, customer, and third-party quality audits
- Help maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 quality management systems
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation, work instructions, control plans, PFMEAs, and inspection records as required
- Perform data analysis on quality metrics and identify trends to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with laboratory testing, product validation, and quality inspections
- Participate in APQP activities, PPAP submissions, and new product launches when applicable
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve quality-related issues
- Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on reducing scrap, improving efficiency, and increasing customer satisfaction
- Support employee quality training and promote a culture of quality throughout the facility
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Two or more years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret specifications
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field
- Experience in automotive manufacturing
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and Root Cause Analysis
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience or certification
- Internal Auditor certification is a plus
