We are an event staffing company that works with golf clubs throughout the DMV area (Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia). We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time Cook positions.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in preparing meals according to the menu plan and dietary requirements.
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and plating dishes.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, and fryers.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying the Head Chef of any shortages.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during meal service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen.
- Ensure that food hygiene and safety standards are the highest priority at every stage of food preparation.
- Demonstrate knowledge of classic cooking techniques, proper seasoning, and consistent execution of dishes.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of menu planning and food preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils, including knives.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the kitchen team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a dietary aide or in catering services is a plus.
- Please include any relevant certifications or training you have completed.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
- Reliable transportation is a plus.
