Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments, including high-voltage wiring and low-voltage systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute projects.
- Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults and determine appropriate solutions.
- Conduct wiring of electrical systems in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards and local electrical codes.
- Install and maintain industrial electrical systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), high-voltage equipment, and control panels.
- Ensure all work adheres to electrical safety procedures, including proper grounding, insulation practices, and lockout/tagout protocols.
- Collaborate with construction teams during renovation or new build projects to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for wiring, conduit bending, mounting fixtures, and other tasks.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently to minimize downtime while maintaining safety standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, inspections completed, and compliance records for audits or inspections.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals accurately.
- Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and local electrical codes applicable to various projects.
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage wiring installations and troubleshooting high-voltage systems.
- Familiarity with industrial electrical components such as PLCs, motor controls, relays, transformers, and low-voltage control circuits.
- Construction site experience including new builds, renovations, or maintenance projects in commercial or industrial settings.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and multimeters for effective troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings quickly while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Strong understanding of electrical blueprint reading combined with practical installation skills using hand tools and power tools.
