Job Overview:
As a truss builder, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling trusses according to blueprints, specifications, and engineering requirements. You will work as part of a team in a manufacturing environment to produce high-quality truss systems for use in construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to understand the design requirements.
- Measure, cut, and shape lumber or metal components to the required dimensions using hand tools, power saws, and other equipment.
- Assemble truss components, including chords, webs, and plates, using appropriate fasteners and adhesives.
- Operate machinery such as saws, nail guns, and presses to fabricate truss components efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure that trusses are built to meet quality standards and structural integrity requirements.
- Inspect completed trusses for defects, damage, or inaccuracies, and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the proper storage of materials and tools.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with team members, including engineers, designers, and supervisors, to optimize truss construction processes.
- Follow production schedules and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of trusses to construction sites.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a truss builder or similar role in construction or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of carpentry techniques, including measuring, cutting, and assembly.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools used in carpentry and woodworking.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and manipulate heavy materials and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety practices and regulations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
