Class C Delivery Driver / Warehouse Associate (Non-CDL)

Pay: $23.00/hour starting | Schedule: Mon-Fri, 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. | Location: Plainfield, IL
The Opportunity
Searls Windows and Doors Inc. is a family-owned and operated dealer of windows, exterior doors, and skylights. For more than 40 years, we have served the Chicagoland building industry with quality products and dependable service.
We are hiring a full-time Class C Delivery Driver / Warehouse Associate for our Plainfield Logistics team. You will complete local day routes in a 26FT company truck and help receive, organize, load, and protect large, fragile windows and doors. This is a driver-and-warehouse position, not a driving-only role.
What You Will Do
- Complete local Chicagoland delivery routes safely, professionally, and on time.
- Inspect the vehicle and load before departure and make sure straps, braces, blankets, and poles are properly secured.
- Communicate accurate arrival times, provide excellent customer service, and coordinate safe offloading.
- Unload inbound trucks; check products against receiving paperwork; and record counts and storage locations accurately.
- Pick, stage, pack, load, and move large, heavy, and fragile windows and doors without damage.
- Keep the truck, warehouse, dock, and work areas clean and organized.
- Speak up early when you see a problem, need information, or have a safety concern.
What We Are Looking For
- Valid non-CDL Class C or CDL license
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and safely push, pull, slide, load, and unload bulky products.
- Reliable transportation to and from our Plainfield location.
- Ability to read and communicate in English well enough to follow safety instructions, complete paperwork, and assist customers.
- Dependability, attention to detail, organization, and a professional customer-service approach.
- Comfort working in varying weather and warehouse temperatures and wearing appropriate work clothing and safe footwear.
