Required Qualifications & Experience: Three years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. Experience must include front-office cashiering operations, analysis and interpretation of accounting data, use of problem-solving techniques, and proficiency with desktop software, including the Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including experience handling student-related issues and the ability to clearly interpret and explain policies and procedures in written, verbal, or presentation formats. Strong customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to apply accounting procedures and practices to the analysis of moderately complex accounting problems; analyze and interpret financial and accounting data; prepare clear, accurate financial records, statements, and reports; utilize problem-solving techniques to resolve accounting issues; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; work independently; and exercise sound judgment in making decisions and recommendations related to accounting activities. Demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact, discretion, and judgment when interacting with members of the campus community. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position. A task may be included as part of the interview process.
