Western Nutrition Instructor (Part-Time)
Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts is seeking a qualified instructor to teach Western Nutrition in our accredited Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine master’s degree program during the Fall 2026 semester which begins August 17.
This course is taught to a cohort of 19 students in the final year of a rigorous four-year professional training program. Students have completed extensive coursework in Chinese Medicine, relevant biomedicine, and one year of clinical internship. The course introduces various nutrients, their chemistry, modes of action, nutritional deficiencies, and clinical approach to diet and nutritional supplementation.
Position Details
- Compensation: $60 per instructional hour
- Course Length: 30 instructional hours as approximatelty one 2-hour class session per week dependent on format from several choices
- Format: Face-to-face instruction, preferred. For qualified candidates with prior online
- Teaching experience, a hybrid or online instructional format may be considered.
- Schedule: Fall 2026 semester; class days/time TBD.
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will possess:
- Master's or doctoral degree in clinical nutrition, dietetics, nursing, medicine, or relatededucation/degree. Clinical or Functional Nutritionist, Certified Nutrition Specialist or
- Clinical Nutritionist, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Doctor of Clinical Nutrition.
- Teaching experience at the college, university, or professional education level
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to connect Western nutritional principles with the needs of healthcare practitioners
