Today, Bridge City is looking for both part-time and full-time candidates with the opportunity for overtime when necessary. For some jobs, travel may be required; however, a majority of our jobs are within 20 miles of our office on the North Side in Pittsburgh.
The salary for employees is commensurate with experience and level of skills. Candidates must have their own reliable source of transportation. Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Fabrication Painter with a strong background in craftsmanship and finishing work. This person will be responsible for preparing and painting fabricated parts and finished products while maintaining a high standard of quality.
The right candidate should be comfortable using spray equipment, have a good eye for detail, and be willing to help with other fabrication and craftsmanship work when needed.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for paint, including sanding, cleaning, filling, masking, and priming.
- Paint fabricated parts and finished products using spray equipment.
- Set up, adjust, operate, and clean spray guns and painting equipment.
- Mix and prepare paints, primers, and coatings as needed.
- Check finished work for proper coverage, consistency, and overall appearance.
- Correct runs, imperfections, uneven finishes, and other issues as needed.
- Complete touch-up work on finished products.
- Properly handle and protect finished parts throughout the fabrication process.
- Maintain painting equipment, tools, and work areas.
- Follow safety procedures for paints, coatings, solvents, and related materials.
- Assist with fabrication, assembly, finishing, repairs, and other shop work as needed.
- Work with other team members to complete projects on time and to quality standards.
Requirements:
- Previous experience with fabrication painting, finishing, or similar craftsman work.
- Experience using spray guns and spray equipment.
- Knowledge of surface preparation and proper painting techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and a good eye for finish quality.
- Comfortable working with hand tools and power tools.
- General fabrication and craftsmanship skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct finishing issues.
- Willingness to take on different types of shop and fabrication work as needed.
- Dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
- Takes pride in producing quality work.
