JOB SUMMARY
Provides comprehensive pharmacy services to patients and clinical providers. Dispenses drugs and counsels patients and clinical providers regarding nature and use of drugs based on latest medical literature and standards of practice.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collaborates with clinics and outside providers to ensure patients’ medications are appropriate and available in a timely manner.
- Dispenses pharmaceuticals prescribed by licensed providers; verifies all prescriptions are appropriately written and filled.
- Maintains, procures, stocks, stores, monitors, and inspects inventory of pharmaceuticals and controlled substances according to applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
- Performs drug utilization review; maintains medication profiles for each patient to ensure dispensing of appropriate medication and minimization of potential side effects or adverse reactions.
- Provides counseling to patients regarding purpose, prescribed dosage, and possible side effects of medication; suggests alternative medication when indicated.
- Monitors for drug interactions and performs a chart review as needed.
- Provides special assistance and guidance to patients as necessary; addresses medication changes.
- Ensures compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards and regulations.
- Builds and maintains relationships with public and/or private entities, agencies, organizations, and the public on matters appropriate to the areas of responsibility; coordinates with other units of the Nation to achieve overall objectives, priorities, and timeliness.
- Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications within the organization and builds and fosters effective working relationships with others.
- Represents the Nation at national, state, and local meetings/conferences to promote and explain the Nation’s objectives.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in seminars, educational workshops, classes, and conferences.
- Adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Must have an active Pharmacist license (Washington State license preferred).
· Two (2) years of mixed hospital/outpatient experience.
· Be willing to obtain (unless already have one) and maintain accreditation from American College of Clinical Pharmacy or American Society of Health System Pharmacists.
· Obtain and maintain Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
· Valid Washington State driver’s license is required.
· Must be able to successfully pass a background screening / investigation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and lift up to 25 pounds. The employee occasionally is required to sit and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and clarity of vision at long distance.
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in an office or indoor setting with regular exposure to infectious disease. Employee may be exposed occasionally to hazardous materials; high risk/potentially dangerous situations; dust, fumes, airborne particles, and/or allergens; excessive noise; and hostile or violent individuals. Work is occasionally conducted nearhazardous/moving equipment or machinery and occasionally requires the use of protective clothing, equipment, devices, or materials. Evening work is occasionally required.
Pay: $128,000.00 - $142,451.00 per year
