We are accepting resumes for a project engineer/manager/estimator position in the field of welding & installation of structural & miscellaneous steel. Must be experienced in steel construction & steel fabrication.
Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Conduct on-site visits to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimation.
- Analyze project scope and identify potential risks or challenges.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate estimation.
- Present cost estimates to clients and explain the breakdown of costs.
- Revise and update cost estimates as necessary based on project changes or additional information.
- Once jobs are awarded you will be expected to take field measurements and relay information to our detailers.
- Oversight of awarded jobs from start to finish from reviewing shop and installation drawings, submitting drawings for approval, gathering quotes on materials, ordering materials, overseeing shop fabrications, overseeing installation of our materials. Renting equipment if needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Project Estimator / Manager in steel fabrication & installation a plus.
- We are willing to train if you have a metal fabrication background, pay would be based on experience.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and interpreting construction plans.
- Familiarity with contract documents, including specifications and drawings.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost estimation.
- Proficient in using estimating software and tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and present estimates to clients.
