POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Development Representative is primarily responsible for identifying, developing and increasing revenue and profitability with new and existing customers. As a business development representative, you will also be responsible for maintaining and strengthening client relationships and strategic partnerships to foster business growth. Additionally, you will drive the end-to-end sales process, collaborating closely with the sales team for seamless lead hand off and information sharing.

Lead Generation and Prospecting: Utilize cold-calling, and networking events to generate new sales leads and increase revenue.

Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate strong client relationships through consistent communication, follow-ups, and fostering customer intimacy with potential and existing clients.

Inbound and Internal Inquiry Response: Respond promptly and professionally to all inbound inquiries from internal and external sources to enhance responsiveness and customer satisfaction.

Sales Opportunity Tracking & Accountability: Track all sales opportunities, maintain accountability for progress through the sales pipeline, and ensure transparency in reporting to leadership.

Market & Competitive Intelligence: Collect and analyze data on the company, competitors, pricing, products, and market trends; provide findings and actionable insights to leadership.

Product Knowledge & Demonstration: Inform customers about new products, conduct product demonstrations as needed, and act as a subject matter resource.

Quotation & Bidding: Oversee competitive bidding processes and follow up on quotations and proposals to customers for timely closure.

Event & Trade Show Participation: Represent the company at trade shows and business development events; connect with customers, vendors, and company partners to grow the professional network.

Interdepartmental Collaboration: Liaise with City Desk, Account Management, Warehouse, Purchasing, Operations, Accounting, and Marketing teams to ensure proper customer order fulfillment and support business objectives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales or a related field.

3+ years’ experience in construction related sales or business development.

Deep understanding of the construction industry and construction material.
TRAVELREQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires the ability to travel to customers’ offices, job sites, industry and training events, and other Tenet locations as needed.
Travel will primarily be by car, with occasional flights for longer distances.
