American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neuro ICU position in Lexington, KY, requiring active RN licensure with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications and strong neuro experience preferred.

19-bed Neurosurgical ICU (Neuro ICU) within a hospital setting
-
Patient population includes CVA, neurosurgical, carotid surgery and carotid stent patients, as well as surgical post-op, cardiac interventions, sepsis, general surgery, and complex critical care patients
-
Supports a comprehensive stroke program requiring critical care placement

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (36 hrs/week)

3–4 weekend shifts required per month

13-week contract
-
Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state license currently in hand

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation

ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred

Strong neuro ICU experience strongly preferred

MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Copies of all certifications required for consideration

Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, patient and family education, discharge coordination, and quality improvement participation

Nursing practice is evidence-based and incorporates all phases of the nursing process with critical thinking and clinical autonomy within scope of practice

Collaborates with an inter-professional care team to coordinate individualized treatment plans

This unit supports a comprehensive stroke program for patients requiring critical care placement
