FlexTrades is hiring a Run Up Technician (Test Technician) to support final testing, troubleshooting, repair, and documentation activities on completed HVAC and data center chiller units. This role is responsible for verifying unit performance, identifying and correcting issues, performing electrical and refrigeration-related testing, and ensuring completed equipment meets quality standards before final release.

Responsibilities
- Perform final testing, troubleshooting, and repair of completed HVAC and chiller units.
- Complete Hi-Pot, Megger, dry testing, energized run testing, and wet/performance testing activities.
- Diagnose and correct electrical, mechanical, and programming-related failures.
- Test components including fans, sensors, compressors, valves, transformers, PLCs, power supplies, HMIs, relays, pumps, and receptacles.
- Energize and de-energize equipment following Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Add or remove refrigerant using recovery tanks, pumps, scales, and gauges as required.
- Replace defective components and make approved wiring or control adjustments based on test results.
- Connect water lines, fill and drain systems, and verify units are leak-free during testing.
- Complete testing records, defect reports, and quality documentation using paper and electronic systems.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area throughout testing activities.
Qualifications
- EPA 608 Type II certification required at minimum.
- Experience working with HVAC, refrigeration, or chiller systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Experience using multimeters and amp clamps.
- Ability to read and understand electrical wiring principles.
- Experience performing equipment testing and diagnostics.
- Comfortable working with energized electrical systems.
- Ability to document testing results and corrective actions.
- Experience using refrigeration gauges, temperature probes, or humidity probes preferred.
- Previous Hi-Pot testing experience preferred.
Pay and Benefits:
- Pay: $42/hour
- Guaranteed Overtime Each Week paid at time and a half
