Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by sterilizing and organizing instruments, setting up equipment (including X-ray machines, anesthetics, and impression materials), ensuring readiness for patient care
- Assist patients and providers according to NC Dental Assisting Guidelines while following OSHA and HIPAA standards
- Deliver exceptional patient experiences with a focus on comfort, education, and trust
- Assist dentists and hygienists during a variety of general and cosmetic procedures, maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workflow
- Perform coronal polishing as permitted by certification
- Administer N₂O in accordance with certification allowances
- Support front office functions when needed, including greeting patients, answering calls, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow
- Maintain proper sterilization and infection control procedures in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Take high-quality dental X-rays and assist with patient documentation and charting
- Provide clear post-operative instructions to support optimal patient outcomes
- Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and handling lab cases
- Complete additional duties as assigned by doctors or leadership
Qualifications
- DA II or CDA required
- Spanish speaking required
- Experience in general and/or cosmetic dentistry preferred
- Must have a positive attitude and strong commitment to patient care
- Must be able to work full-time: Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Fridays flexible if needed)
- Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends as needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Dental Assisting: 3 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- X-Ray Certification (Required)
- Coronal Polishing Certificate (Required)
