Food Runner Job Description
Big Machine Distillery is a fast-growing premium spirits company with corporate offices located on Music Row. The sister company to Big Machine Label Group, Big Machine Distillery operates in a fast-paced, creative environment and serves as the hub for our multi-state sales team, our three tasting rooms located on 3rd Ave in downtown Nashville, on Bransford Ave in Berry Hill and our main distillery in Lynnville, TN. The Brand is growing quickly, leading to new and exciting ventures daily.
Job Summary
The Food Runner plays a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by ensuring food is delivered quickly, accurately, and with care. This position serves as the link between the kitchen and front-of-house team, helping maintain efficient service while providing friendly, attentive hospitality to every guest.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver food orders promptly and accurately from the kitchen to guests.
- Verify that each order is complete, properly prepared, and matches the ticket before leaving the kitchen.
- Communicate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Describe menu items to guests and answer basic questions when needed.
- Assist servers by refilling beverages, delivering condiments, clearing plates, and responding to guest requests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations, expo areas, and dining areas.
- Assist with table maintenance by clearing and resetting tables as needed.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Support the front-of-house and kitchen teams during high-volume service periods.
- Complete opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.
- Maintain a positive attitude and provide exceptional hospitality to every guest.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Friendly, professional demeanor with a guest-first attitude.
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to assist wherever needed.
Schedule & Availability
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
- Flexible scheduling based on operational needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift and carry trays, food, and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, twist, and navigate crowded dining and kitchen areas safely.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
