DESCRIPTION
The Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) Instructor will instruct students according to the curriculum designed to assist students to build knowledge and clinical skills aimed at passing the licensing exam for Illinois CNA. Assist students in registering for the Illinois State CNA licensing exam. The instructor must possess the ability to work with students from different socioeconomic and educational backgrounds.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach the course curriculum.
- Build knowledge and develop clinical skills aimed at assisting students to obtain the CNA Certification.
- Maintain accurate records on all students, including but not limited to attendance records, schedules, and course requirements regarding hours of instruction and content.
- Evaluate and document students’ progress through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained.
- Communicate effectively with students and all those affiliated with the course, including staff at clinical training facilities, and prospective employers.
- Provide a stimulating environment that encourages student participation, interpersonal skills development, and concepts of patient care.
- Maintain a daily time sheet for all students.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- BSN
- Two years’ nursing experience and at least one year of experience in the provision of LTC facility services in the last five (5) years.
- Instructor shall meet the clinical instructor requirements of a department -approved specialized workshop course, seminar, continuing education unit, or other approved training for instruction in Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias of a minimum of four hours or 4 CEU credits.
- Ability to lift at least 20 lbs.
- Ability to teach both day and night classes. In-person and online.

- Ability to work independently and to be able to instruct on a classroom platform for the hybrid course offering.
REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES
This position reports to the program Operations Director. The salary of employment will be contracted per class.

Pay: $2,500.00 - $3,500.00 per month
