The Senior Supply Chain Manager serves as part of the leadership team, directing all aspects of procurement and warehouse operations to support organizational objectives, customer commitments, operational excellence, and business growth. This position ensures material availability, inventory optimization, supplier performance, and regulatory compliance within a precision manufacturing environment. The role collaborates with Planning, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Sales teams to support production readiness and continuously enhance supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with company objectives, customer requirements, production needs, cost targets, and regulatory standards
- Create, monitor, and report departmental KPIs while implementing corrective actions to achieve established goals
- Lead procurement and warehousing operations to ensure material availability, inventory accuracy, and supplier performance metrics including inventory turns, working capital optimization, and supplier quality
- Build strategic supplier relationships through negotiation of pricing, lead times, payment terms, and agreements to ensure reliable, cost-effective supply
- Monitor supplier performance using scorecards, quality metrics, and on-time delivery measurements, implementing supplier development initiatives as needed
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to long-lead materials, supplier capacity constraints, and operational dependencies
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems, customer requirements, product traceability standards, and applicable regulatory obligations
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support production readiness, engineering changes, new product introduction, and strategic sourcing decisions
- Drive cost reduction through supplier consolidation, inventory optimization, lead time reduction, and total cost of ownership initiatives
- Lead, develop, and evaluate department personnel through hiring, training, performance management, and succession planning
- Champion continuous improvement across procurement and warehouse operations using process standardization, technology utilization, and supplier collaboration
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, operations management, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
- 5+ years of progressive supply chain or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment; precision or regulated manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Proven experience leading procurement, warehousing, inventory management, sourcing, and ERP/MRP-driven purchasing processes
- Working knowledge of quality management system requirements and documentation controls preferred
- Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and contractual obligations highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate supplier agreements while managing performance, risk, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization skills with data interpretation capabilities
- Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to leadership, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams
- Proven leadership experience coaching, developing, and holding teams accountable for results
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems; relevant professional certification preferred
