Company Overview
Bergmann Group is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with 3-10 years of experience. This position is based out of our Phoenix, Arizona facility and will help support our Waterloo Healthcare and Phoenix LTC product lines. Occasional travel to our Nogales, Sonora, Mexico facility may be required for certain projects (a roughly 3-hour drive from Phoenix).
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 3D modeling, drawing revisions, prototyping, and engineering support for existing products. This role involves improving product reliability, cost optimization, and ensuring seamless manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development
- Perform design modifications and updates to existing products using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks 2025).
- Create and revise engineering drawings to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain installation guides and assembly instructions for production processes and product.
- Generate application concepts for customers and sales teams demonstrating custom modifications or new features.
Sustaining
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements while maintaining product integrity.
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and purchasing teams to resolve design and production issues.
- Ensure documentation accuracy, including BOMs, change orders, and engineering reports.
- Support engineering change requests (ECRs) and lead engineering change orders (ECOs).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- 3-10 years of experience in sustaining engineering, product design, or manufacturing support.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes such as sheet metal forming.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in sheet metal design and fabrication.
- Machine/mechanism design experience.
- Familiarity with FEA, DFM/DFA principles, and material selection.
- Foundational knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and GD&T principles.
- Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) or Professional (CSWP).
- Spanish-speaking, CEFR B2 or higher.

Schedule
Monday to Friday (Day Shift) – Average of 45 hours per week.
