Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly to maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing using proper knife skills, and following recipes accurately
- Support the kitchen staff by preparing ingredients and assembling meals according to menu standards
- Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation by adhering to safety protocols and cleaning schedules
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, slicers, ovens, and dishwashers
- Help with meal service by setting up serving stations and assisting with catering or special event preparations
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks, ensure smooth workflow, and uphold safety standards in production
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant settings, or dietary departments is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety management practices
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques
- Strong cleaning skills with an understanding of sanitation standards in a commercial kitchen environment
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the culinary environment
- Basic culinary experience including knife skills and slicing techniques is advantageous
