Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in curtainwall and storefront estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze project specifications and prepare accurate cost estimates. This role requires proficiency in industry-standard software such as Bluebeam, along with excellent negotiation skills to ensure competitive pricing and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects.
- Utilize Bluebeam software for accurate take-offs and pricing calculations.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather data for accurate estimating.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Prepare detailed proposals that outline project costs, timelines, and contractual obligations.
- Monitor project budgets and costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to financial goals.
- Participate in contract negotiations to secure favorable terms for the company.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
- Strong knowledge of curtainwall and storefront principles, contracts, and project management practices.
- Familiarity with cost control measures and pricing strategies within the construction industry.
- Experience using estimating software such as Bluebeam and glaziers studio/partnerpak is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Prior experience working on construction sites is a plus, providing practical insights into project execution.
