Job Summary
Glorious Community childcare center, LLC is seeking a dependable, energetic, and passionate School-Age teacher to join our team in Sanford, NC. This position is responsible for providing a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children ages 5-12 through daily educational activities, supervision, and positive interactions. We are looking for someone who is reliable, takes initiative, and genuinely enjoys helping children learn and grow.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development for school-age children.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies, ensuring a respectful and inclusive environment.
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to all health and safety regulations, including first aid procedures and emergency protocols.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children's progress, address concerns, and support their overall well-being.
- Document daily activities and attendance records.
- Plan and lead daily educational and recreational activities for school - age children.
- Ensure active supervision of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment throughout the day.
- Communicate professionally with parents and coworkers.
- Follow all NC Child Care Licensing Regulations and center polices.
- Work as a team to provide high- quality care for every child.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom at all times. Teachers are expected to clean and sanitize their classroom daily, keep learning materials organized, and leave the classroom clean and ready for the next day.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings such as daycare, camp programs, or after-school programs is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive learning environment.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Experience in special education or working with children with diverse needs is a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- NC Early Childhood Credential preferred ( or willingness to obtain)
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and maintain a professional appearance.
