Job Overview
The Restaurant Supervisor at Melba's Restaurant provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure consistent excellence in guest experience and the standards that define the Melba's brand. This role serves as the bridge between day-to-day operations and ownership/executive leadership — driving long-term growth while developing a strong, motivated management team.
Duties
Operations & Standards
Oversee daily operations at Melba's, ensuring adherence to brand standards, health and safety regulations, and the service culture our guests expect. Conduct regular operational walkthroughs, identifying gaps and implementing corrective action plans in partnership with the restaurant team. Serve as the escalation point for complex operational or guest issues that exceed FOH staff's authority.
People Leadership & Development
Recruit, hire, onboard, and performance-manage the restaurant team. Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and coaching sessions to develop capabilities and build a strong team culture rooted in Melba's values. Lead training initiatives and ensure all managers and staff consistently represent the Melba's experience.
Guest Experience
Champion a guest-first culture throughout the restaurant. Monitor feedback channels — online reviews, comment cards, direct complaints — and work with the management team to drive measurable improvement in satisfaction. Personally respond to escalated guest concerns with professionalism and care.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure Melba's maintains full compliance with local health codes, labor laws, and company policy. Lead incident investigations and oversee corrective actions as needed.
