In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate inventory control, and supporting seamless order fulfillment processes.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders using warehouse management systems and inventory software.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and documenting orders accurately with order picker tools and barcode scanners.
- Load and unload freight using equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts (certification preferred), and hand trucks while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain precise inventory records through data entry into ERP systems like AS400 or other inventory management software.
- Ensure proper packaging standards are followed to protect products during transit while optimizing space for shipping logistics efficiency.
- Collaborate with warehouse distribution teams to coordinate order fulfillment, stock replenishment, and stock rotation activities.
- Support compliance with trade regulations and international trade requirements when handling cross-border shipments.
- Assist in cycle counts, stock audits, and inventory reconciliation to uphold accurate stock levels.
- Facilitate smooth communication between shipping carriers, internal departments, and customers to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods.
- Adhere to safety guidelines during all warehouse operations including load & unload procedures and the use of warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a warehouse environment with a strong understanding of warehouse operations and distribution processes.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms, and inventory management software.
- Proven ability to perform data entry accurately in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills necessary for counting, measuring, weighing packages, and verifying shipment quantities.
- Experience operating forklifts or order pickers; forklift certification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of shipping logistics including order picking & packing, load & unload procedures, and shipping & receiving best practices.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities within a busy warehouse setting while maintaining safety standards.
Pay: $19.00 per hour
