IQ Optical is looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our growing team. Whether you have previous optical experience or have recently completed an optician training program, this is an excellent opportunity to build your skills in a modern, patient-focused practice.
As an Optical Assistant, you'll play an important role in creating a positive patient experience by assisting with diagnostic pre-testing, eyewear selection, and optical dispensing. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering exceptional service, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and check-in patients.
- Answer phone calls
- Perform pre-testing for telemedicine eye examinations, including confrontational visual acuity testing, auto-refraction, tonometry, and other diagnostic screenings.
- Obtain and accurately document pre-testing results in the EMR.
- Inspect completed eyewear for accuracy and perform frame adjustments, fittings, and minor repairs.
- Process and monitor eyewear orders while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized optical dispensary and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
Qualifications
- Optical experience or completion of an optician training program preferred but not required.
- Recent optical graduates are welcome to apply.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical and retail environment.
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented.
- Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving patient care needs.
