VPK Substitute Teacher – Job Overview Position Overview
The VPK Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, caring, and positive classroom environment while the Lead VPK Teacher is absent.
Main Responsibilities
- Follow the completed lesson plans provided by the Lead VPK Teacher.
- Teach and complete the planned activities and lessons with the VPK students.
- Supervise and ensure the safety of all children at all times.
- Follow the daily classroom schedule and routines.
- Assist children with classroom activities, learning, meals, bathroom routines, and transitions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
- Encourage positive behavior and respectful interactions among students.
- Follow all school policies, procedures, and VPK requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 45 DCF training hours
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credential
- Experience working with young children is preferred.
Important
The Substitute VPK Teacher is not responsible for creating lesson plans. The Lead VPK Teacher will provide the completed lesson plans, and the Substitute Teacher is responsible for following and implementing them with the students.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
