Diamond Steel Co. is looking for a reliable, hard‑working Shop Assistant to join our team. This is a physically demanding, hands‑on role that supports daily shop operations and equipment preparation. We pride ourselves on producing high‑quality machinery, and every team member contributes to that standard. Full training will be provided, including instruction on specific tools, equipment, and shop processes. For those who are motivated, this position offers a real pathway to learning welding or industrial painting.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Sanding, grinding, and finishing steel parts and equipment
- Cleaning and preparing components for final finishing
- Operating shop machinery to cut, bend, or clean parts
- Preparing equipment and components for painting
- Assembling products after painting
- Performing basic maintenance on shop equipment and general shop upkeep
- Weekly trash removal and routine janitorial duties to keep the shop clean and safe
- Operating a forklift
- Completing additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ability to consistently produce quality work while meeting deadlines
- Understanding of basic safety practices in a manufacturing or shop environment
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Basic familiarity with hand tools, air tools, power tools, and the ability to read a tape measure to 1/16"
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with others
