Job Summary
The Assistant Director for Children’s Programming/Teen Center plays a pivotal role in creating a safe and engaging environment for children who attend our child watch and teen programs. The Assistant Director will work with the Director of Children’s Programming to execute daily, weekly, and specialty programs in the areas. Responsibilities will encompass maintaining safety protocols, ensuring operational systems are executed, assisting with special events such as movie nights, birthday parties, and vacation programs, and collaborating effectively across all aspects of the club to deliver exceptional experiences for participants.
Additionally, for the Teen and Tween Center, this individual will organize and provide a supervised social, recreational, and educational program for youths ages 10-17 that consistently meets the interests and needs of members and participants.
Responsibilities
Child Watch Operations
- · Be hands-on in the classroom during shifts.
- · Track accurate headcount on all children during group activities.
- · Create and implement successful and profitable programs.
- · Ensure supplies, equipment, and materials are organized; report when new or additional supplies are needed.
- · Maintain accurate documentation of attendance and emergency information.
Staff, Member, and Parent Communication
- · Initiate and maintain positive relationships with children and parents, remain comfortable with children, and respond to parent input and concerns.
- · Communicate effectively with staff, directing staff as needed during shifts.
- · Ensure staff are engaged and providing exceptional service.
- · Manage member and parent concerns.
- · Respond to messages and inquiries in a timely manner.
Teen and Tween Programming
- · Plan and implement daily/weekly activities that create excitement and a “buzz” throughout our community
- · Create DAP’s (Daily Activity Plans), themes, and events that foster development and interaction thru art, social games, music, technology, and active living (exercise/recreation games)
- · Provide care and supervision, oversight, and accountability for program participants
- · Supervise teen activities and enforce rules and regulations with regards to conduct and upkeep of facility
- · Perform outreach and publicize/market upcoming teen events and activities throughout the community
- · Manage program budgets and resources
- · Develop and enforce policies and procedures for safe and inclusive environments
- · Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on program outcomes
Safety and Administration
- · Verify payments are received for program attendees and recorded accurately.
- · Comply with all emergency procedures appropriate to MAC Emergency Protocol to ensure the safety of each participant and staff member.
- · Maintain a professional appearance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- ·At least 2 years of experience working in a supervisory role, preferably in a child care setting.
- ·Possess a high standard of personal integrity.
- · Excellent management, organizational, and communication skills.
- · Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
- · Ability to be creative, original, intuitive, and perceptive.
- · Ability to solve complex problems and make appropriate judgments and decisions.
- · Ability to work a varied schedule, including nights and weekends.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
