Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care strategies, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
- Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside assisting, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental software platforms such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
- Skilled in dental x-ray techniques, including taking intraoral images while maintaining radiation safety standards.
- Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures in general dentistry settings.
- Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and HIPAA compliance management.

Pay: $46.00 - $50.00 per hour
