DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
The Playground Leader is a temporary (seasonal) position and is directly responsible for the wellbeing of the children at the center, the planning and implantation of program activities, and the supervision of other staff. They must effectively maintain order and discipline appropriately. Duties will include the regulations of the sign in/out process, money transactions, complete and maintain necessary paperwork, and other managerial roles. Incumbent must be able to make sound decisions when dealing with difficult situations and must be able to make decisions that conform to the policies of the facility. Maintaining the cleanliness of facilities, used and visited, will also be required. The Playground Leader must perform other duties as required.

- React quickly and calmy in emergencies.
- Work professionally in an environment which has frequent interaction with the public and staff of varying personalities.
- Improvise, think out of the box and work independently, without supervision, to get the job done.
- Administer first aid and CPR.
- Communicate orally in the English and Spanish language.
- Observes safety regulations and communicates potential safety hazards.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential function of this position, as is the ability to create and maintain professional, harmonious working relationships with others.

Some positions will require the performance of other essential and marginal functions depending upon assignment.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED & EXERCISED
- Supervision is received from the Recreation Supervisor.
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to:
- Work cooperatively with other employees and the public.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and three months experience with kids in a job setting.
Licenses, Certificates & Registrations:
- CPR certified or must be able to obtain first aid and CPR certification within first 10 days of employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee is regularly required to sit and use hand and finger. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The employee is exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
