Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and responsible Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials will ensure timely and secure deliveries. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced transportation operation while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards set by FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation). Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, ensuring compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
- Drive over-the-road routes, managing long-distance deliveries with precision and professionalism.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport.
- Transport refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, or dangerous goods according to hazardous materials regulations.
- Use GPS navigation systems to follow optimized routes and ensure timely deliveries across diverse locations.
- Manage truck loading and unloading processes efficiently, maintaining safety standards at all times.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles, including flatbed or tanker configurations, to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Document delivery activities accurately, including logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route adjustments or delivery updates.
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations regarding driver hours of service and vehicle safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with necessary endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat), tanker, or refrigerated trailer operations.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across OTR routes.
- Familiarity with FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck loading/unloading.
- Experience operating manual transmission trucks and handling logistics cargo such as freight on flatbeds or tankers.
- Strong knowledge of GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time adjustments.
- Ability to manually handle cargo safely while complying with safety procedures for dangerous goods or hazardous materials.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight manually and perform vehicle inspections regularly.
