TITLE OF SUPERVISOR: Director of Rehabilitation
REQUIREMENTS - Education / Experience
- Associate degree from an accredited occupational therapy program.
- Licensed COTA in good standing as required by law.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English; ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position assignment. Working Conditions: Works in an appropriately lighted and ventilated environment. Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day, proper body mechanics required - bending, stooping, turning, stretching, and reaching above the shoulders are involved.
- To meet the position requirements, must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics / equipment that will enable these senses to function adequately.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Observe and record resident/patient progress, attitudes, and behaviors.
2. Record and maintain resident/patient information to conform with regulations and facility standards.
3. Maintain and promote a positive attitude toward patient/resident and their treatment Program.
4. Monitor resident/patient's performance in therapy activities, providing encouragement utilizing therapeutic use of self.
5. Select therapy activities which match the residents’/patients’ needs, capabilities, interests, and occupational profile.
6. Instruct and/or or assist in instructing resident/patient and families in the creation/promotion of health/habits, establishment/restoration/remediation of health, maintenance of health/wellness, modification/facilitation/compensation, or adaption of occupation and/or the prevention of disability.
7. Instruct resident/patient in the care and use of adaptive equipment/technology. 8. Assist OTRs with implementing treatment plans designed to help resident/patient function independently.
9. Provide verbal or written updates on residents’/patients’ progress, attitudes, and behavior to supervising Occupational Therapist and/or health care professionals. 10. Alter treatment Programs to obtain results if treatment is not having the intended effect.
11. Support other departments when needed including performing other related duties and attends meetings as may be deemed necessary by Supervisor / Administrator and or Director.
