Your Impact (The Role):
As a Special Education Tutor, you will meet students 1:1 in their homes to provide tailored academic instruction, daily activity support, and morale-boosting mentorship. Your daily success looks like:
- Delivering engaging, interactive 1:1 sessions tailored to each student’s unique learning style.
- Reviewing and adapting materials to align with the student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Tracking milestones and adjusting your teaching methods to celebrate their progress.
- Partnering and communicating with parents or guardians to ensure a cohesive, supportive learning journey.
- Fostering a safe, inclusive, and fun space for emotional and academic growth.
Who We Are Looking For:
We welcome diverse backgrounds, but our ideal candidate meets the following:
- Education: Currently enrolled in college, or holds an AA, BA, or higher degree.
- Experience: Prior experience working with individuals with special needs or IEP accommodations is highly preferred (but a heart for service and patience is mandatory!).
- Mindset: Ability to make learning fun, interactive, and entirely student-focused.
- Logistics: Reliable transportation for in-person, in-home commuting within your local California city, and the ability to pass a standard background check.
