Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Food Service Director to lead the daily operations of our dietary department. This position is responsible for overseeing food service operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing financial performance, developing team members, and delivering exceptional dining experiences for guests.
The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader with experience in contract food service management who is passionate about customer satisfaction, quality, and employee engagement.
Responsibilities
- Direct all daily food service operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and customer service.
- Recruit, train, coach, schedule, and develop team members while fostering a positive and accountable work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company food safety and sanitation standards, including regulatory surveys.
- Manage departmental budgets, labor costs, food costs, inventory, purchasing, and financial performance.
- Oversee menu implementation, production, and meal service while maintaining guest satisfaction.
- Monitor quality assurance initiatives and implement continuous process improvements.
- Maintain accurate records related to sanitation, safety, production, temperatures, inventory, and regulatory compliance.
- Build positive relationships with families, clients, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and exceptional hospitality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, Nutrition, Business, or a related field preferred.
- ServSafe Manager Certification required or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive food service management experience.
- Experience managing budgets, purchasing, inventory, labor, and financial performance.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and food service management software; experience with electronic documentation systems is a plus.
