Production Manager – Second Shift

We are an expanding contract manufacturer. Our team partners with leading brands to produce high-quality fragrances, body care products, and custom scent formulations. As production demand continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced leader to oversee our evening manufacturing operations.
Position Summary
The Production Manager will be responsible for directing all manufacturing activities during the second shift, ensuring production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. This individual will provide leadership to production personnel, drive operational performance, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day production operations to ensure schedule attainment and customer delivery requirements are met.
- Lead, coach, and develop shift personnel, including operators, line leaders, compounders, and warehouse support staff.
- Partner closely with Quality, Planning, Maintenance, Compounding, and Logistics teams to maintain efficient workflow and minimize disruptions.
- Monitor production performance and address operational challenges to maximize productivity and reduce downtime.
- Ensure adherence to GMP, safety regulations, and company policies throughout all manufacturing processes.
- Review and verify production records, batch documentation, and operational reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall manufacturing performance.
- Support employee onboarding, training initiatives, and workforce development programs.
- Track and report key production metrics, providing regular updates to plant leadership.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience in fragrance, cosmetics, personal care, chemical processing, or related industries is highly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GMP requirements, manufacturing best practices, and workplace safety standards.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced production setting.
- Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership capabilities.
- Experience working with ERP systems, production documentation, SOPs, and batch records.
