Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Site Manager and reports to the Director of Early Childhood Education, the Kitchen Aide is responsible for preparation and coordination of meals, completes Child Care Food Program paperwork and supports center staff with nutrition activities in the classroom as needed. The Aide is also responsible for food safety, cleaning and sanitizing of the kitchen.

Implement an applicable food safety and sanitation regulations in receiving, storing, serving, and cleanup of all meals prepared at center.

Receive and store the delivery of food.

Receive approved amount of milk from PCI vendor, inspect packaging, store properly and submit signed milk food invoice to PCI on a weekly basis.

Prepares and serve meals daily that meet CACFP, and USDA nutrition requirements.

Supports teaching staff with classroom cooking activities when needed.

Supports program with cooking needs for center events.

Plan work schedule so that food service flows smoothly

Plan and complete routine cleaning and maintenance of kitchen and equipment.

Maintain proper hygiene and dress requirements for food service staff.

Sanitizes surfaces, picks up and puts away materials in the kitchen in order to maintain a safe and organized environment.

Supports teaching staff with custodial support for mid-day cleaning and serves as custodian in the absence of the regular custodian on a periodic basis.
Within scope of job, requires decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
