We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Personal Injury Legal Assistant to support busy plaintiff-side personal injury practices serving clients throughout Kitsap County and Western Washington. The ideal candidate is highly organized, compassionate with clients, and capable of managing a significant caseload while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
This position is ideal for a legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the personal injury claim process from intake through settlement, and enjoys providing outstanding client service.
Responsibilities
- Manage personal injury cases from intake through resolution
- Maintain case files, calendars, deadlines, and litigation schedules
- Communicate regularly with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and experts
- Request, organize, and summarize medical records and billing records
- Draft correspondence, demand packages, pleadings, discovery responses, and other legal documents
- Assist attorneys with case management and trial preparation
- Coordinate medical treatment information and lien documentation
- Track statute of limitations and other critical deadlines
- Schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, and client meetings
- Handle electronic filing and document management
- Maintain accurate case notes and updates in case management software
Qualifications Required
- Minimum 1+ years of personal injury legal assistant experience
- Strong knowledge of Washington State personal injury procedures and insurance claims
- Experience obtaining and reviewing medical records and billing documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Professional, empathetic client-service approach
Preferred
- Experience with litigation support and trial preparation
- Familiarity with case management software such as Clio, Practice Panther, Filevine, SmartAdvocate, or similar systems
- Knowledge of Washington court filing procedures
